Structure and Upconversion Luminescence Properties of Pr3+-Doped Y2SiO5 Phosphor

Ultraviolet-C light has significant application prospects in the fields of disinfection, air purification, etc. Herein, an effective UVC upconversion phosphor Y2SiO5:Pr3+ was successfully prepared, as evidenced by XRD results. The diffuse reflection spectra Y2SiO5: Pr3+ phosphors presented two distinct absorption bands corresponding to electron transitions 3H4 → 3P2 and 1D2, Eg determined be 4.22 eV for Y2SiO5 host, which is very close (4.172 eV) calculated DFT. Under excitation 460 nm laser, emission peaks centered at ~247 ~ 258 were found range 230-280 nm, are attributed 4f5d 3H5 ions. With help temperature-dependent spectra, demonstrated impressive thermal stability up 150 °C. These findings indicate that potential disinfection.
